With a VHS and little money you will be very limited.Your best option would be to find a VCR with Flying Erase and Audio-Video Insert. If you can spend $250-$300 get yourself a JVC HR-S4600 VCR.I got mine from Circuit City for $250.There are better options but this is the cheapest.

I'll sell you my pinnacle Studio400 for $80 + shipping. If the camcorder has RCA style or 5-pin hookup it should work fine

I would be very surprised if your JVC VHS-C cam didnt have built in editing.

    which model is it?

if its one of the GRAX models, usually they come with a built in editor. Thats wha i used to use until i got a capture card.

The question is..it the built in editor good?

    answer: definately not.

but it will do the job with enough patience. Its very fiddley because by the time you have finished inserting all the IN and OUT points, the tape moves about 5 seconds along, so you end up guessing where it'll end up.

You are likely to own a pc, so the best advise i could igve would be to get a capture card. You allready have the basic needs, a pc. I got a DC30 for only ?125 (rrp: ?600) seconds hand on the net (go to computervideo.net there are some real bargains there)

Hope any of that helps, there is loads more free info on my site:
